WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement on the Senate GOP’s obstruction of emergency supplemental funding to handle the current humanitarian crisis on our nation’s border:
It's unbelievable that Republicans can sleep at night, having blocked at every turn efforts to provide emergency funding to deal with the child refugee crisis on our border. House Republicans have so far refused to even call a vote on emergency funding, and now Republicans are blocking action in the Senate too. Leaving these kids to fester in inhumane conditions on our border is a stain on our nation, and Congress should not leave town until this crisis is addressed.
