As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Murphy will be accepting requests for Congressionally Directed Spending in the Fiscal Year 2022 appropriations process. You can submit electronic application forms here and and you can view a PDF version of the form here.

Any request for support must be submitted via electronic application by 11:59 PM on June 6, 2021. This application is intended to help identify projects that can reach completion with assistance from the federal government.

Congressionally Directed Spending requests must meet a number of different standards. First, all requests must comply with Senate Rule XLIV. In addition, the Senate Appropriations Committee has imposed new restrictions that will govern the Congressionally Direct Spending process in Fiscal Year 2022. Under these rules, for-profit entities are not eligible to receive Congressionally Directed Spending and only certain accounts are eligible for Congressionally Directed Spending requests. A list of those accounts is available here. Finally, Congressionally Directed Spending is capped at one percent of all discretionary spending so not all eligible projects can be awarded funding. Please note that Congressionally Directed Spending requests will also be made public and that these requests may be subject to audit by the Government Accountability Office.

Disclaimer: Submission of this application should not be construed as a guarantee that funding will be requested or awarded. Entities submitting an application will likely be required to provide a detailed budget and additional information as described in the application.
