U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy is challenging Connecticut students to interpret what Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream means to them.

“Dr. King taught us that full equality doesn’t come without a fight,” Murphy said in a prepared statement. “I launched the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Essay Challenge this year because it’s clear, perhaps now more than ever before, that our work is not yet complete.”

The essay challenge is open to students from Kindergarten through high school, with varying word count requirements, according to a release.

The deadline is Monday, the federal holiday honoring the slain civil rights advocate.
