WASHINGTON –Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) released the following statement on passage of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act in a bipartisan vote of 93 to 4.

After a handful of senators blocked a vote last month, we are pleased that the Senate finally passed the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act today with an overwhelming bipartisan majority. This means that Connecticut’s property insurers, like The Hartford and Travelers, will again be able to offer significant terrorism coverage to large property developers around the United States. It also means that economic development and vital job-creating construction projects around the nation will not be threatened or stifled.
