WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Thursday released the following statement after Senate passage of the Ukraine assistance package:
“The resiliency and heroism of the Ukrainian people have defied all expectations since the beginning of this war, and the next few weeks are going to be critical. This bipartisan $40 billion dollar package of military, economic, and humanitarian aid will undoubtedly save lives and help Ukrainian forces continue to beat back Russian aggression,” said Murphy. “It’s also great news that this package includes funding to support our diplomats’ return to Kyiv and that Ambassador Brink will soon be on the ground in Ukraine to coordinate this unprecedented amount of assistance.”
