HARTFORD—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that Sign Pro, Inc. of Plantsville is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Founded in 1990, Sign Pro, Inc. is a turnkey manufacturer, systems integrator, designer and installer of  interior and exterior signage, custom structures, and marketing materials. The company specializes in corporate and individual signage for a diverse portfolio that includes: the State of Connecticut, local municipalities, Colleges & Universities, health care organizations, public safety organizations, professional sports and recreation facilities, restaurants, and more. One of their most notable creations is the steaming cup displayed atop the scoreboard at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford and the incredible City of New Britain Beehive Bridge. Sign Pro custom manufactured the large colorful side wall enclosures, four large bee sculptures as well as the Beehive sculpture on the bridge.

“Sign Pro is the perfect example of Connecticut manufacturing prominently on display,” said Murphy. “Their innovation and creativity can be seen across the state in places both big and small. I also want to applaud Sign Pro for their dedication to workers in Connecticut. I’m proud to highlight them.”

“We have an amazing staff.” Stated Sign Pro Owner, Pete Rappoccio. “From account managers, designers, fabricators, painters, project managers and support staff who ALL work as a TEAM. Sign Pro implemented LEAN Manufacturing principles and solutions for constant ongoing improvements. We embrace our Connecticut universities and graduates who we have hired through the years and Sign Pro has provided internship programs to develop the students to full-time employees.” Rappoccio added “We are also looking to be innovative and with the latest technologies and solutions to better our clients. We have recently taken delivery of a massive 3D printer for our new Innovation Center. We are proud of Connecticut, the support and talent that is here and would not want to be anywhere else.

Sign Pro, Inc. is a family owned and operated business, and next year will be celebrating 30 years in business. The company’s over 70 employees work out of a 45,000 square foot facility in Plantsville. Sign Pro, Inc. is also very active in their community, routinely working with the Klingberg Family Center, Southington YMCA, Southington Bread for Life, LAZ Foundation, Joey Logano Foundation, public safety organizations and local schools. This year, Sign Pro, Inc. was recognized by the Hartford Courant as a “Best Place to Work.”

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s thousands of manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the  BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
