WASHINGTON – On the one-year anniversary of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement:

“Today we remember those who were murdered senselessly one year ago today in Las Vegas. Like many Americans, I was shaken to my core,” said Murphy. “Only in America do horrific large-scale mass shootings happen with this degree of regularity. Since Last Vegas, we’ve seen 27 high school students gunned down in Texas, and Florida, and many more Americans murdered in cold blood without any meaningful action from my colleagues in Congress. Thoughts and prayers aren't good enough. Congress is complicit in this carnage if we continue to do absolutely nothing.”
