MURPHY STATEMENT ON SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE VOTE ON KAVANAUGH NOMINATION

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Friday released a statement following the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee vote advancing the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Senate Court.

“This is a lifetime appointment – there was no need to rush without a full investigation. I take Senator Flake at his word that he wants an FBI investigation, and I expect Senate Republicans to postpone a vote in the full Senate to allow for one. If not, they will have made it clear that they prefer getting someone with an extreme conservative ideology on the Supreme Court and remaining purposefully ignorant of the truth.”
