Senator Chris Murphy, Chairman of the U.S Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, on Wednesday held a hearing on President Biden’s Fiscal Year 2025 funding request for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. In his remarks, Murphy called out Senate Republicans for their role in prolonging the crisis at the southern border and criticized unfounded attempts to place the blame on Secretary Mayorkas.
